The history of Café Savoy began in 1893 – the ground floor of the Art Nouveau building was first a decadent café, then a bohemian hangout after the Velvet Revolution. At the end of 2001, the space was renovated and its atmosphere now evokes the days of Viennese grandeur. The elegant Art Nouveau interior is lined with wood and marble, with a seven-meter high neo-Renaissance ceiling with monumental designer chandeliers.

The unique lighting made from recycled materials especially for Café Savoy was designed by designer Veronika Richterová, who uses plastic bottles in various forms in her work. She collected many of them during her travels around the world – she processed eight-liter barrels  in Tenerife and in Washington, she made decorative bases using distinctive American bottles.
